Big News!

Starting July 22 in Charlotte, North Carolina, I will be joining the Glenn Miller Orchestra on tour as their new female vocalist! Over the next year, I will be touring through and singing in most every state in the country, as well as a number of cities in Ontario and Quebec, plus a month abroad in Japan.

As many of my friends and family know, this is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream of mine, to sing with a big band. My initial modest goal was only to sing with some big band somewhere at least once in my life. So to now get the chance to tour with what is probably the most recognizable and active big band in the country (approximately 300 dates a year), is beyond what I ever thought possible.

For the next year or so, I’ll be pretty much living on a bus and out of hotel rooms as we go from one city to the next, with only a few breaks during which I’ll be able to come home to visit. I have a lot of people to thank for helping me to get here. First of all, I have to thank Demetrius for being so supportive and encouraging of me to do this, even though it will be difficult for us both with me being away so much. I love you!!! Much thanks also go to Jenniver Sparano for her expert wardrobe assistance, you rock, Jenniver! I also have to give a shout out to all the performers and musicians I’ve sung with over the years, for providing a great training ground to prepare me for this, especially the Pickwick gang.

I also want to thank those of you who are out there making your own rules and going after your own crazy dreams. You inspire the rest of us to do the same and not settle for merely living day to day and making a paycheck, but instead to take risks to do something you’re really passionate about; people like Natalie Green, Valerie Salstrom, Rob Mayes, Kristen Netzband, Connor O’Brien, Kelly Pekar, Glenn Gasner and Lisa Zebrowski, just to name a few.

And a final big thanks to all the people who have been so encouraging and made me believe I could do this, especially my parents, Connor, Lynda and Donnie, who believed in me more than I ever believed in myself.

You can check out the tour schedule on http://www.glennmillerorchestra.com to see if we’ll be coming to your neck of the woods. The schedule continues to fill in as the year goes along, there are always new dates being added. For all the Clevelanders, I will be in Cambridge, Ohio on Dec. 18, which isn’t too far of a drive, if any more NE Ohio dates are added, I’ll let you know.
